Why should I call Arizona Total Home Restoration immediately?
Where there’s water damage, there is always a risk that mold will start growing. In fact, you only have 48-72 hours before microbial growth could start. That’s not a lot of time, especially if the damage began during your absence. Dishwasher water damage, for instance, could be occurring for a long time before you ever notice it. Professional drying and other water damage repair equipment, used correctly, is necessary. The sooner you get started recovering your property, the better your chances of an easier, less expensive restoration.
When should I call my insurance company?
It’s a good idea wait until a professional home water damage technician has a chance to assess the damage. Some water losses are small enough that insurance never needs to be involved. Most insurance companies will put a mark on your record even if you don’t file a claim just because you informed them there was a water loss.
ATH Restoration can answer your questions, help you with your claim, file the claim on your behalf, and even bill your property insurance company directly.
What should I do before you come?
While you are waiting for our team to arrive, here are a few things you can get started on:
- If the water-damaged areas include electrical appliances, stay out of the area. You don’t want to risk electrocuting yourself. Safety first.
- You need to stop the flow of water immediately. If there is a burst pipe, turn off the water main. It’s normally located where your hose spigot is out front. If there is a leak from the roof, put a bucket under it.
- Remove light pieces of furniture, electronics, and other belongings out of the path of the water.
- Put tinfoil under the legs of furniture that cannot be moved, if possible.
